2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4

The 2003 Dodge Neon promises to offer a strong performa.nce at affordable prices. Though, it might be an economical, its competitors outdo it in some aspects.

 

Performance

  • The 2003 Dodge Neon came in four exclusive trim levels: SE, R/T, SXT and the SRT-4. The SE, the R/T and the SXT versions offered a 2-liter engine whereas; the 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 offered a 2.4-liter engine. 132 horsepower (hp) was offered by the two basic models; the R/T offered 150 hp and 215 hp was provided by SRT-4.

 

 

Fuel

  • The Neon consumed unleaded gasoline only. The offered fuel economy depended on the respective versions of the Dodge Neon. For the SXT and the SE versions, 25 to 29 miles per gallon (mpg) was the rated fuel economy if the vehicle was scorching the city and 32 to 36 mpg if running on the highway. The fuel economy was a bit better for the 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 and R/T versions: 29 mpg when running across the town and 36 mpg when blazing the highway.

Comfort

  • The competitors of Dodge neon were ahead when it came to interior comforts. Air conditioning, tachometer, power steering and power door locks were not anything above standard level for the versions, R/T, SXT and the SRT-4 and were not available on the SE. Headroom of 38.4 inches is offered for the passengers sitting in front and headroom of 36.7 inches is offered to those sitting in the vehicle’s rear. It offered a leg room of 42.2 inches up front and 34.8 inches in the rear.

Entertainment

  • The entertainment offered by this Dodge was a bit odd in comparison to the other models. The AM/FM radio came standard All models came with a standard AM/FM radio. A CD player, however, was only standard in the SE and The R/T and SE versions of Dodge Neon came with a standard CD player but unfortunately, it didn’t come with a CD changer or allowed any upgraded stereo systems or any form of video systems or sun- or moon-roofs.

Safety

  • The air bags meant for the drivers and passengers in the Neon ensured the safety of its occupants. However, side airbags were not included as an added feature. Only the R/T and the SRT-4 version of the vehicle came with anti-lock brakes. The R/T version of the Dodge Neon offered traction control also.
